REPRINT EDITORIAL ASSISTANT

HACHETTE INDIA is looking for a REPRINT EDITORIAL ASSISTANT who is organised, detail-orientated and self-motivated, to manage a list of INTERNATIONAL TITLES with proven digital and editorial skills (mandatory).

What you'll do

You will be independently project managing new editions through manuscript, editing, proofing, proof collation and typesetting, as well as overseeing ebook editions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing proof corrections, including proof collation, and providing author care
  • Supporting other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of the editorial department.
  • Manage ASR programme files and delivery
  • Support reprint editors with annual orders including mark ups, proof and plotter checks
  • Manage multiple projects aligning with company priorities and adjust task lists as needed, ensuring they are on time, budget and meet quality standards
  • Prepare final files for press and archive in Biblio DAM
  • Review Critical Stock Reports against the corrections logs to assess the need for reprint corrections, locating PDFs (or other files)
  • Monitor weekly Reprint Status Report and Sign-off Reports and report progress, flag and manage delays
  • Manage cover changes and other design route internal updates

ASSISTANT PROJECT EDITOR

HACHETTE INDIA is looking for an ASSISTANT PROJECT EDITOR who is organised, detail-orientated and passionate about meeting deadlines and budgets, to manage a list of INTERNATIONAL TITLES through the desk editorial and pre-press stages.

What you'll do

You will be independently managing new editions through manuscript, correction, proofing, proof collation and typesetting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and managing editorial and production schedules ensuring deadlines are met
  • Creating prelims and adding new material into paperback and ebook editions
  • Briefing, managing and checking freelance work, handling queries and marking up changes
  • Managing proof corrections, including proof collation, and ePub conversion
  • Checking offsets and ebook files
  • Raising and managing purchase orders and costs
  • Liaising with production and editorial colleagues, as well as suppliers and freelancers to ensure budgets and schedules are met
  • Supporting other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of the international project editorial department.
