Scott Menchin
Woody Guthrie (1912-1967) wrote more than a thousand folk songs, ballads, and children's songs. His homespun humor and earthy, activist songwriting set the stage for the folk music explosion of the 1960s and influenced many popular recording artists, including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. His musical legacy endures as countless musicians, activists, teachers, and families continue to discover and sing his songs.
Scott Menchin is the illustrator of numerous picture books, including Wiggle and Bounce by Doreen Cronin, and most recently, his own Taking a Bath with the Dog and Other Things That Make Me Happy. He has also created illustrations for Time, Newsweek, the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and many other clients. Scott Menchin currently teaches at the Pratt Institute Graduate School and lives in New York City with his wife, Yvetta, and their daughter, Karina.
